Current Research

Integrated Intelligence Driven Public Transport System (July 2019 - Present)
The project aim is to improve the movement of public transport by extending the previous work on developing CRUISE, which is a cooperative and unified smart traffic system. AI-enhanced techniques are used to carry out in-depth analysis to predict bus load and stop passenger demands, which are served for the control schemes. The strategies applied to smooth bus movement in the project include the setting of the give-way signal to help regulate the processes of bus entering and leaving bus stops, the design of the adaptive bus lane and pre-signal operations to allow buses jump the car queue.

Previous Research

Distributed Adaptive Urban Traffic Signal Control based on V2X Information Infrastructure (Apr 2015 - Nov 2018)
This research project set up by NXP-NTU Corp Lab and supported by Singapore Economic Development Board, with the aim to develop new technologies for vehicles to communicate with each other and with designated roadside infrastructures. Traffic network platform based on Jurong East area in Singapore is developed via simulation software Vissim. The proposed algorithm is tested on the platform to implement our real-time large scale traffic signal scheduling strategy.
